What happens to the crown part once you undergo R.C.T ?

A badly decayed tooth is cleaned very deeply when R.C.T is done. The Dental surgeon will place a good lining on top of the root filling and fill the balance part of the tooth with a filling material. Most probably you can see your tooth back to normal in shape. But while doing proper cleaning of the inner tissues the remaining enamel part of the tooth will become unsupported - without your knowledge you will bite something hard which lead to a fracture of the (crown) unsupported enamel part.

To avoid this complication what must we do ?

After completion of the R.C.T the outer covering should be strength ened by a "crown"
This crown could be in varios types.
Metal porcelain crown, Semi precious metal crown, precious metal crown, Ceramage crown.
Depending on your choice you can go for a crown. Anyway if it is a jaw tooth you can't go for a crown done in ceramage.
